Alessandro Appignani

His compositions are always entrusted to prestigious interpreters.

Pianist and composer, since earlier he starts studying piano, composition and cello with teachers like Marco Fumo, Hans Graf, Lazar Berman and, for the composition Marco Di Bari, who will follow him till 1996 like master and friend, making appreciate to him the musical writing of '900 and of the avantguardes, into an intellectual way and an exchange extremely stimulating, nourished by the frequenting of cultural and musical places connected to the Biennial Exhibition of Modern Art in Venice.

In the 1995 he meets Carlo Maria Giulini to talk about the music of ninenteenth century and Robert Schumann.

His great passion for the history of art takes him to have relations with artists and historians, so he begins an epistolary relation with Federico Zeri.

Appignani is interested to the various musical forms, collaborating with musicians like the Quartetto d'archi di Torino, the japanese violist Yoko Kanamaru or the american cellist Kate Dillingham. In the next august it will be the world première of his Viola Concert, dedicated to Danilo Rossi; while for 2009 it's foreseen the recording of his new project "THE LAST BARD".
