Il gruppo Vulandra nasce nel 1980 grazie all’iniziativa di alcuni residenti di Pontelagoscuro con in comune l’hobby dell’aquilonismo. Le prime manifestazioni aquilonistiche si svolsero sull’argine del Po e furono occasioni di raduno solo locale ma, nel corso degli anni, la manifestazione assunse una maggiore importanza tanto da aprirsi anche al di fuori dei confini della sola provincia.
Partecipando a manifestazioni nazionali ed internazionali, il gruppo Vulandra si fa conoscere grazie alla bravura nell’esibizione ed alla fantasia delle sue creazioni ed inizia così un’escalation che l’ha portato ad essere oggi uno dei più importanti gruppi aquilonistici in Italia ed all’estero.

Dall'argine del Po al Parco Urbano
Per iniziativa di Guido Guidarelli, primo Presidente del Gruppo Vulandra, la festa dall’argine del Po si trasferisce nel 1988 al Parco Urbano, e diventa un appuntamento non solo per Pontelagoscuro ma per tutta la città di Ferrara.
Il Gruppo Vulandra continua ad organizzare ogni anno, nel terzo weekend di Aprile, la manifestazione che si è collocata tra gli eventi più importanti della città grazie al notevole afflusso di pubblico sia locale sia da altre città ed è diventato un punto di riferimento per tutti gli aquilonisti italiani e stranieri.

La manifestazione
Il Festival Vulandra, nato per gioco nel lontano 1980, si colloca ora tra i più importanti eventi aquilonistici d'Europa, la manifestazione ferrarese ospita tutti gli anni un gran numero di aquilonisti provenienti da tutt’Italia, da vari paesi europei, Francia, Germania, Austria, Olanda, Lussemburgo, Svizzera, Belgio, ma ha assunto un carattere mondiale ormai da vari anni tanto da contare tra gli ospiti presenti alle varie edizioni rappresentanti americani, canadesi, giapponesi, argentini, brasiliani, australiani.
Questa manifestazione si svolge ogni anno grazie all'impegno del Gruppo Vulandra e al contributo di enti locali,
(Amministrazioni Comunale e Provinciale) ed associazioni (Arci Nova Ferrara, Centro Sociale Anziani di Pontelagoscuro), alla sponsorizzazione di società ed aziende e, naturalmente, alla partecipazione di tutta la cittadinanza e degli aquilonisti di tutto il mondo.

Who we are > The history of Club

The Vulandra group was founded in 1980 thanks to the initiative of some residents of Pontelagoscuro who shared an interest in kites. The first kite events took place on the bank of the river Po and were only local gatherings but, in the course of the years, the event assumed a greater importance and interest was shown from beyond the borders of the single province.

By participating in national and international kite festivals, the Vulandra group became known for their wonderful displays and fantastic creations and so began their ascent to become one of the most important kite teams in Italy and abroad today.

From the banks of the river Po to the City Park
Guido Guidarelli, the first President of the Vulandra Group, decided to move the event from the banks of the river Po in 1988 to the Parco Urbano, Ferrara’s city park, and the festival became a meeting not only for Pontelagoscuro but for the whole city of Ferrara.

Every year in the third weekend of April, the Vulandra Group organizes this kite festival which is now ranked among the most important events of the city attracting a huge local audience and many visitors from other cities. The festival has become a key reference point for all Italian and many foreign kite fliers.

The Festival
The Vulandra Festival which was set up for fun long ago in 1980, is now established among the most important kite events of Europe. Every year the Ferrara Festival accommodates a great number of kitefliers coming from all over Italy, from several European countries, France, Germany, Austria, Holland, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium, and now to reflect its world-wide character, representatives from America, Canada, Japan, Argentina, Brazil, Australia.
This event takes place every year thanks to the commitment of the Vulandra Group and to the contribution of local Authorities (Municipal and Provincial Government) and associations (Arci Nova Ferrara, Centro Anziani di Pontelagoscuro), the sponsorship of companies and businesses and, of course, to the participation of all the citizens and of kitefliers from all over the world.
