Hello!
My name is Stefano Maria and I am an AMIGA computer fan.
I own an AMIGA 1200 made by AMIGA TECHNOLOGIES, a (console?)
CD32 made by COMMODORE, and an AMIGA 500 made by COMMODORE
again.
Connected to the AMIGA 1200 parallel port there is a HEWLETT
PACKARD DESKJET 610C colour printer, that even thought its
age and the loosing of both the paper sheet wings, it works
fine yet.
I have purchased from VESALIA (www.vesalia.de) a BLIZZARD
1230 IV accellerator board with a ram module and now the
AMIGA 1200 has 64 Megs of fast ram, and uses a MOTOROLA 68030
processor that runs at the frequency of fifty MegaHertz; this
could seems ridiculous compared with the actual work
frequencies of PCs and MACs, but for an AMIGA this is a great
improvement, seen that the AMIGA 1200 has a bare MOTOROLA
68020 processor that runs at a lower frequency, that is
fourteen MegaHertz; think that the AMIGA 500 has a MOTOROLA
68000 processor that works at a frequency of seven MegaHertz.
Spite of this they are great computers!
On date Monday 19 January 2004 it has arrived to me the SCSI
KIT for the BLIZZARD 1230 IV of the AMIGA 1200, purchased
from the AMIGA italian reseller named VIRTUAL WORKS (www.virtualworks.it);
now the AMIGA 1200 can use SCSI peripherals like an external
cd reader and besides I can increase the fast ram up to 128
Megs, with no count the 64 Megs already present on the
BLIZZARD!
On date Tuesday, 15 november 2005 I have purchased from
MEDIAWORLD (www.mediaworld.it) a 60 Gigs hard disk for the
AMIGA 1200; unfortunately the AMIGA 1200 can use only the
first 4 Gigs, to be able to use the whole capacity I must
take the right decision.
On date Tuesday 25 July 2006 it has arrived to my from
AMIGAKIT (www.amigakit.com) a 64 Megs ram module, and now the
AMIGA 1200 has the beauty of 128 Megs of fast ram!
I have enclosed in the order a beautyful joystick for the
AMIGAs, I have tested it with SUPER HANG ON on the AMIGA 500;
I thought it smaller.
On date Friday first June 2007 it has arrived to me from
VESALIA the OS 3.9 on cd for the AMIGA 1200, Viva!
Now I have only to install it on the AMIGA 1200 safety
virtual image on the PC and then copy it by cable from the PC
to the AMIGA 1200, great!
Thanks also to the italian software house CLOANTO for has
putted on its site the latest version of AMIGA EXPLORER to
download for the owners like me of an original copy of AMIGA
FOREVER!
I have purchased for my AMIGAs an EASYLIVING fifteen inches
LCD television of the four third format with SCART, audio
video composite, S-VIDEO end at end VGA connections; the fine
thing is that it works perfectly with my AMIGAs, thanking
also my AMIGA to SCART-RGB cable that I have used to connect
the AMIGA 1200; the COMMODORE 1084S cathode ray tube monitor
thanking my father I have left to the dump.
I have purchased from VESALIA for about 9 Euros a SCSI cd
reader, then I have searched on the Web a SCSI self powered
box, and fortunally I have found it and I have purchased it
with the AMIGA 1200 SCSI connection cable from a man italian
like me with the name Fabrizio that has asked me only 15
Euros for the SCSI self powered box and the cable.
On date Monday 15 February 2010 I have met this man and I
have payed to him 15 Euros receiving the SCSI self powered
box with the cable for the AMIGA 1200.
Returned at home I have assembled all and the cd reader has
worked with the AMIGA 1200 at the first try!
On date Thursday 26 August 2010 it has arrived to me from
AMIGAKIT the items I have ordered on the site few days before,
that I thought to find, that is the support for the SCSI
connector on the AMIGA 1200.
Thanking my father also that has found for me the nuts to
lock the connector to the support, I have opened the AMIGA
1200, I have removed the floppies writer and, after some
tries, I succesfully locked the SCSI connector to its support,
that I have locked before to the AMIGA 1200 case with its
screw!
Now thanking AMIGAKIT and my father also the AMIGA 1200 has a
new connector firmly locked on the rear from which the SCSI
cd reader is connected!
