On date 12th November 2005 my AMIGA 1200 internal hard disk has
broken!
On date 16th November 2005 I am gone with my major sister to
MediaWorld hopeing to find a new 2.5 inches hard disk to substitute
the broken one and luckly I have find two hard disks of this kind,
one of 40 Gigs and the other of 60 Gigs, both boxed equal and
anonymous; after a couple of minutes of evaluation, I have choosen
the one of 60 Gigs, I am gone with my sister to the cash and I have
spent 129 Euros.
I have discovered at home that into the anonymous box was hidden a
HITACHI TRAVELSTAR; think that the new 60 Gigs hard disk is tick a
quarter compared with the old 810 Megs one!
After installing it into my AMIGA 1200 I have discovered that by its
own it can see not 4 but instead 8 Gigs of the new hard disk 60 Gigs
total capacity.
I have decided to create the same partitions that there were on the
previous hard disk, with the difference that each is 1 Gig wide
except for the last that takes all the space left, that are 2 Gigs.
The solutions to use the new hard disk whole capacity without
utilize the OS 3.5 is of the installation of a third part patch that
I have found on the installation diskette of the SCSI KIT of the
BLIZZARD 1230 IV accellerator card of the AMIGA 1200.
The following photos are of the old 810 Megs hard disk remotion and
of its substitution with the 60 Gigs one.
