| Questo sito è dedicato al modellismo navale, hobby di Stefano, e ai figurini militari, hobby di Lidia. Stefano, appassionato di storia non solo militare, si occupa principalmente di navi da guerra del periodo 1906-1945, senza preferenze di scala, con particolare attenzione alle navi di grandi dimensioni (corazzate, portaerei, incrociatori). Lidia nutre una passione (esclusivamente estetica e non storiografica) per il medioevo ed il rinascimento, ed ha trovato che la pittura di figurini militari (ma non solo) di quel periodo sia il modo più affascinante per ricreare a casa loro un piccolo angolo di viaggio nel tempo. Stefano esporrà fotografie dei suoi modelli (senza preoccuparsi della loro qualità o fedeltà storica) e dei modelli di quanti vorranno contribuire e dei modelli dei musei navali che ha visitato, al fine principale di consentire un visione diretta della qualità dei kit da cui sono stati realizzati. Su internet infatti esistono relativamente pochi riferimenti fotografici ai kit non collegabili ai produttori, e le opinioni espresse in formato testo altrove non sono sufficienti a farsi una idea precisa della qualità del modello e a far scattare la molla del desiderio di realizzazione. Continueremo, nel tempo, ad aggiungere modelli e considerazioni. Eventuali contributi sono sempre benvenuti. |
This site is devoted to ship modelling, one of Stefano's hobbies, and to military figurines, one of the Lidia's. Stefano's section will be mainly devoted to warships existed or designed between 1906 and 1945; all Navies and scales will be represented, with a greater attention to large sized warships (battleships, battlecruisers, aircraft carriers, cruisers). Lidia is fond of the middle age and renaissance, and she finds that building and painting figurines is the most interesting way to have a sort of time machine at home. Stefano will show pictures of his models without worrying about photo quality, building quality and picture fidelity (you will see very unusual 'camouflages' here!), in the hope to let people to have a direct opinion about the original kit qualities. Stefano is more a builder than a real modeler, so most of the models are shown as "out of the box"; if not, it will be discussed in the text near the pictures. The opinions expressed here are independent from any vendor or organization. The pictures from navy museum models are shown in order to let everyone, in Europe and overseas, to admire high quality works and to have a guide for their works. We are waiting for other people pictures from the world to add to this site. Wanted: pictures of large scale models of WWI German and British Battlecruisers and of the projected and not built battleships/battlecruisers in any navy between 1915 and 1922. We will keep adding our models and museum pictures and your contributions will be always welcome. |
