  • . May use 1988-1996 Cutlass, Grand Prix, Lumina, Regal or Monte Carlo body on 1978-1987 GM 108 inch wheelbase full frame.
  • . No driver-adjustable devices allowed while car is in competition except brake adjuster.
  • . One or all shocks may be claimed per event, counting as one claim on card, following shock claim procedures and penalties (see rule book).
  • . REAR END: Any steel approved OEM passenger car or truck non-cambered rear end (housing and carrier) allowed.
  • . All exhaust must go through muffler, two per car, one per header.
  • . Air cleaner top cannot direct air into carburetor.
  • . (Note: Carburetor may be exchanged, following same procedure as engine claim.

  • Welcome to MorTec HOLLEY CARB TUNING TIPS CARB CFM SIZING One of the first things to determine is what size carburetor do you need? A number of factors come into play.
  • . What cubic inch size is your motor? What do you do with it? Race, street use, towing, street use with occasional trips to the track? What type of intake manifold do you have, split plenum, open plenum, tunnel ram, individual runner? How fast do you spin the motor? What is the volumetric efficiency of the motor? Do you have a manual or auto transmission? What is the rear gear ratio? Do you want to get the best gas mileage possible or do you want to develop the most power possible? Keep in mind that a carburetor is just one part of the engine combination.
  • . Putting a larger carburetor on is NOT going to immediately put 100 more horsepower at your disposal.
  • . The carb needs to work with the other parts you have chosen and your intentions concerning how the vehicle is going to be used.

I bought the car (MR2 T) with 100 octane maps...the guy never gave me other maps So I ran 100 octane for the longest time...till my wallet dried up...hahaha, so I did a ghetto timing tune of my own I dropped 5 degrees all across the board and now run 91 octane...my car was running rich before, but now its like spittin fuel rich the power has obviously dissapeared...I think i took too much off boost cause boost builds so slow now...then I tuned it jsut a bit based off numbers in my head (NONE of the tuning I did was on a dyno...) I'm just doing this long enough to get by and get it professionally tuned (hopefully by Ben).
