Biographical notes

Cristiano Sadun was born in Milano, Italy on September 11, 1970, owns a master in Computer Science from the Computer Science Dept. of the Univeristy of Milan, Italy, and has been working professionally in the IT field since 1989. After years of activity in Italy as a freelance consultant on design and development of object oriented systems, in early 1999 he joined the Norwegian subsidiary of a multinational company, mainly at the Oslo location. He's now working as core development manager for a small all-norwegian company dealing with XML-based integration solution. He's a member of the ACM (sadun@acm.org).

His main professional interests regard: analysis and design of object oriented software systems; software engineering; project management techniques and small-team oriented organization; programming languages theory and practice and computer networks.

His academic interests comprise computational lingustics, in particular regarding natural language analysis and understanding by automatic systems, on written text. He's also interested in programming language semantics, software complexity metrics and in the research about in-the-large development and large systems project management.

He's experienced in analysis, design and development of object oriented and distribuited software, both as an architect, developer and coordinator, using OMT/UML and mostly C/C++ and Java as implementation languages, on UNIX and Win16/32 platforms, and relational database (mainly DB2 and Oracle). During the university years and later he developed a deep knowledge of internetworking technologies.

His past professional experiences regard all of the tha areas above: among the most relevant, a MRP system based on statistical analysis, a personnel management system, a web-based system for insurance data screening, e-commerce, financial analysis/management systems, expert systems for financial analysis, a distribuited systems for mininig information from a world-wide intranet. Besides, he enjoyed acting as teacher and consultant for application object-oriented modelling and programming languages and software engineering metodologies.

As of personal side, he adores reading and music listening (expecially the blues), plays the guitar with some result, loves intelligent conversation and pratices (wheather allowing) kayak riding.
