POETRY BY DEMOSTHENES DAWETAS

Nous étions tristes ce soir

une gerbe d'horreur ancrée

dans la sauvagerie de la terre

l'un attendait la main

de celui qui aurait osé

l'inavouable

l'autre le calme dans le

recoin de l'amertume.

Et c'était - je le jure -

ce clin de vent froid

la solitude

qui circulait entre nous.

Tant que dure le souvenir de ce

poème à venir j'écrirai.

Aux moments de

la fécondation

du silence chaque voix

sonne

POETRY BY DIDI (ELDEDIERY M. FADUL)

From the collection "Revolution: The Walking Dead"

The other side

Twice, Thrise

Thrice, twice

The client dies

In the cemetery

Of the tribes

Twice, thrice

Throwing dice

In the cemetery

Of the tribes

The client dies

Wandering souls

The dead shake the dust

from their shoes

and die.

Men and women

lined the graveyard.

Whores flash and

children cry.

Gates of heaven

have no locks or ties

but the children cry...

cry and cry.

With no hands they knock

and knock -ock-ock... and

cry...

... wandering souls.

An old man has died,

a child was born...

...screaming of a child.

6. EAT ME

CHOREFTES dance company and a MAKIS FAROS’ video work

RUBRIC

Maternity provides so often an exceptional means to certain women to take vengeance on their nature, on their body and on their mother, since they consider the child extension of their body, just as their mother did for them. In these cases, ¶tt   the uterus in is the gate to inside.

It is also the gate that certain men can touch upon, those that can wear out and ache, repeating the same movement, that of the maternal power, redefining the roles.

This is a generations’ game.

CHOREFTES Dance Company

The Dance Company "CHOREFTES" was founded in 1993 by choreographers and dance teachers Maria Anthymidou, Aliki Kazouri and Michalis Nalbantis.

Since then, they have presented 15 productions.

The aim of the dancers, musicians and costume designers who work with company is to promote the art of dance in Greece. In an effort to expand beyond the limits of the contemporary dance scene in Greece, the company has participated in many international projects.

In the past few years, CHOREFTES are exploring the relationship between dance and new technologies. Their innovative productions have opened up new ways of expression in the field of contemporary dance.
