Since 1997 he has developed an innovative research program in health
systems analysis, underpinned by a multidisciplinary background in
evidence based medicine, statistical methodology and open source scientific
programming.
His focus is on the design and development of multilevel systems,
using different sources of information to provide
the health sector with a unified model that will build upon different
components to deliver a general solution to data analysis for health systems.
His focus for the future will be investigating the role of
the Internet for promoting the uptake of evidence and enhancing its
international
links.
Among the various activities, he has started and managed independent
research groups with strengths in evidence-based practice, information
technology and biostatistics and staff sourced through internal and external
collaborations and on a project-by-project basis.
