Morrigan's Wings Tutorial © Marinella "Hoshi" Rocchi

Cut the shape of the wings on the paperboard (I inspired to anime version and not game version), now cut the same shape on the foam rubber (thick 1,5cm or 2cm). Glue the two shapes together. Put some paper tape around the wings. Cover all the wings in this way, then take the black color acrylic spray and paint all this wings structure, now paint with the brush of white color the top of the wings, so you have done the claw.  Now take final varnish to hand or spray, you can choise if you want it glossy or opaque.Now apply the varnish on the wings. Sew with some silk the membrane, you must use two types of cloth, purple and black, you sew them together (you sew it to inside out, and when you finish turn the all, so you will have polished seams). Take the membrane and glue it on the back of the wing shape. Now make a little hole on the wing top and insert a little twine nylon that you will wear in the middle finger (you can see the image)

in the final part of the wing cut a little hole and insert in it a cotton fillet, now cut a little shape of paperboard with rectagular form, and making two holes in it pass the ribbon in it (as you see in the image above), now insert the shape with attached wings in the back of your costume and under it fasted with a knot the fillet that you inseterd before in the wings and then in the paperboard shape.

Now the wings are ok.^^ You can move then moving the hands, because the twine nylon move them.^^ *** While for the head's wing you can do in this way. Take a hair ring (sorry but I don't know the right therm in english), if is possible of the same color of your wig or hair, now make the shape of the wing with wire(and leave out of it many wire, anyway you can see the draw)

and glue to it with black adhesive tape some pieces of foam rubber. You leave uncovered only the top of the wing. Now with the same procedure of the other wings sew the membrana and glue it on the shapes. Then with ceramic, clay, Fimo or other similar materials make the claw, I used simple bread rubber to cancel the pencil on the paper, but today I would use another material like fimo or clay. If the material that you use isn't white, you color it with a brush of this color. Now with the wire that you left out, fasten the wings on the hair ring, if is possible pass the wire under the ring so it won't  be seen on the head. Doing this you finished the hear wings^^
