Concerto di Organo alla Pieve S. Leonardo di Artimino
Il Concerto si svolgerà nella
Chiesa Romanica del VIII sec. su un Organo Positivo di Autore (Verati,
Bologna 1866). Musiche varie di grandi Autori europei dal Rinascimento
all’800.
Francesco and Piergino Maurelli were
born on the 30 th July 1971 in Pontremoli (MS), where they live and are
organists in "Lady of the Assumption" Cathedral and in the other
churches of the town, where there are excellent historical organs. The
hold a diploma in "Organ and Composition" taken at "Arrigo Boito"
Conservatory of Parma under Mrs Claudia Termini ' guidance.
At the "Academy of Italian Music for Organ" in Pistoia they have
followed improvement courses kept by G. Uriol (Spanish organ literature)
and H. Vogel (German organ literature) and others with J. G. Kraner (improvisation)
and D. Sanger (English organ literature).
The have given concerts in Pontremoli, Rome, Milan, Florence, Parma, La
Verna and many other Italian towns.
Abroad they have kept concerts in Strasbourg, in the Lutheran Church of
"Saint Pierre le Jeune" and in Brussels in the "Eglise du Sacre Coeur"
under the sponsorship of the European Parliament and the "Italian
Institute of Culture".
They have also taken part in several competitions:
Francesco has come third at T.I.M. (International Tournament of Music)
and has reached the Final at the Fourth, (International Organ
Competition "Marcello Galanti" of Mondaino) (RN) and has taken part in
the International Competition "J. S. Bach" in Leipzig.
Piergino has won the "National Organ Competition" of Noale (VE) in A
Category, the Third Prize at the First International Organ Competition
"Fratelli Bernasconi" of Olgiate Olona (VA) and has taken part in the "International
Organ Competition" in Tokyo.
The two organists can play individually, at "four hands" and "two organs".
