This is one of that album capable to take you away, travelling through ancient atmospheres, something capable to speak to you soul and spirit, once again France proves that there are still bands of a certain kind, something out of time, out of the trends driven by emotions and feelings, really astonishing. Ancalgon plays a sort of epic black metal with superb melodies and great acoustic passages, listening to them I can imagine a battlefield on the seaside near the borders of the forest, it’s not like the typical sound of the norwegian bands, it’s proper of the French bands like the old album of Seth, you know, it sounds like that albums that every single note is where it has to stay, all sounds perfect in his inperfection, one of the best bands from France, surely.
