ANWIL - Postmortem Apocalypse

Drakkar Prod.

I havo to admit that I’m not a great fan of Usa Black Metal, only few acts got my respect and Anwil are not one of those, they play a chainsaw destructive speed-thrash at the old way, probably too much for my taste. Otherwise the overall quality is not so impressive, they often play fast parts with only intention to sound brutal losing a bit too much the focus of the atmosphere that is a bit absent.

This is the type of album done to impress the underground crowd for how true and without any melodic influx they music can be. The artwork is a note of interested,, a cold boken land like the music Anwil play, a destructive metal hymn without any sensibility to the well known naturalistic darkness, they seem to be emotionless and probably much similar to the Antaeus approach. Differently I prefer Antaeus because there’s more madness in their music and differently Anwil are more ordinary in their brutality. The result of "Postmortem Apocalypse" is not too bad but nothing special, probably it’s more suitable for a retro ’80 listener with a nedding for direct brutality without too many shades.
