"Final War Approaching", the debut album of this Swedish band was very interesting in the way of melting up the coldest and more straight Black Metal of early Darkthrone with the more regressive and primitive inspiration. The result was a alternation of the a la "Transilvanian Hunger" parts with other more rhythmical songs. "Only True Believers" is divided in two different parts that have something in common but also a very different approach. The first song is a clear sign of what the first side can offer, a bloody and thrashy regressive and primitive Black Metal desecration without too many frills and aesthetics. Everything sound very old-style more ’80 than ’90 and doesn’t impress me too much. Fortunately the second side has its differences, remaining cold and blasphemous but with a more depressive and grey scale. What was a nasty scream became an obsessive and raw distortion, to believe you have to watch the abyss without any fear. The only thing that’s sure is how with this release the Swedish band has done everything possible to keep away every nice and pleasant element to torture the listener with a good release that can be almost compared to the quality of the debut.
