BLACKDEATH "Fucking Fullmoon Foundation"
BlackDeath
goes rawer compared to their debut and the result haven’t impressed me,
"Fucking Fullmoon..." is a dirty, filthy album, but it haven’t the
sick atmosphere of today cult acts like Shining, Craft. With this release
BlackDeath have left the more aggressive side of their music to create a
primitive and regressive form, sometimes connected with the ’80 atmosphere.
Personally I think that this album haven’t what I search on a release like
that, it haven’t that obscure emphasis and the right mood, someone will
think that it’s all a matter of personal taste and it could be but there’s
something missed because the objective that this Russian band have tried to
reach is not at all accomplished, fortunately there are some valuable songs
like the fifth and the sixth, where the overall level is higher ‘cause of a
more compact songwriting. The rhythmic side of this band
isn’t surely its better weapon, but it would be something promising
if that band will try in the future to mix their primitive and filthy side
with the more authoritarian mood that sometimes come to the attention. In the
last song the Scandinavian phantom come back and the result is a very
interesting closing track, alas with the same drum machine that I haven’t
like too much in the overall album.
