I’m
really impressed and surprised by this Teutonic band, they play a music that is
today corrupted by so many idiots around and the difference is the majestic
spirit expressed by their music, melodic Swedish death-black metal with a
genuine dark feeling.
The
first time I heard "Der..." I thought to the excellent Sacramentum
debut "Far Away from the Sun", thinking nostalgically to how short has
been the history of that kind of music, that has been submerged, in a very quick
period, by thrash influences, destroying the roots of its originality. The first
songs are very massive, the guitars create a melodic and powerful atmosphere,
full of magic and a bit epic, like this music have always had.
The third song is a bit more death metal in the common way but after that track
their trademark is back keeping a good quality through the overall album. The
only problem is the drum recording, not totally bad done but not aggressive as
it could be, but it’s already incredible how a band coming from the silence
have released a so interesting album. To close the opera there’s a very
emotional acoustic song that make me travel in ancient times, a cool option!
