CELESTIA - Apparitia - Sumptuous Spectre
Celestia
is a band that an incompetent listener could describe as an old-style Black
Metal Band, indeed "Apparitia" have an obvious connection with the
early Norwegian material but they developed a music that capture a supernatural
essence, bringing some of the Burzumish sad melodies to a parallel dimension.
Every single element contribute to this immersion in this mood, the sound choice
could be not the most immediate thing to understand, the guitars are a bit on
the background and the drums are played with the intent to bring the listener to
different mental perceptions, fast where necessary but more varied in the
majority of this album, a very unusual but interesting choice is the one of
"Wandering Throught the Past Memories... where guitars and drums worked
perfectly to create an original song.
What
capture my attention is the ability to lead their music to ethereal horizons and
visions, hallucinated and sick melodies full of melancholic decadence without
leaving apart the typical grim rawness of Black Metal. The Extreme and personal
lyrics are surely a positive point that I will discuss with Noktu on the
interview, because one of the astonishing element of this work is the perfect
communication between the songs dark and gloomy feeling, like transcendental,
the lyrics and the artwork, where the mysterious title is partly unveiled,
distorting the limit between reality and darkest dreams. "Apparitia"
is an album for those few individuals who aren’t only seeking for "Satan
and Brutality" but differently for those who are digging deeper in the most
horrible tunnels of our mind to acquire the disturbing and hypnotic magnetic
force that surround mysteries and extra-material perceptions.
"Apparitia" is like closing eyes, turn everything off and left our
darkest nightmares become art, leaving our mind without certain points.
