CELESTIA-DEAD INSECTA SEQUESTRATION

Agonia Records

Agonia is known for the raw harshness of their releases and for a certain retro thrash and raw death nostalgic behavior of their bands. Celestia is a band that have already a strong chapter in their discography, the unforgivable "Apparitia" will remain something special in my collection. "Dead Insecta Sequestration" is a re-release of the long-time sold-out demo that have hit the underground scene time ago with an impressive fusion of rotten and necro-melancholic blackness, with an hateful and acid screaming performance of Sir. Noktu, contributing in the creation of a sick, and sometimes strongly melancholic feeling, with a shadow of sadness haunting. The typical doomed artist appeal of the French scene obviously comes out. The opening song starts with a sorrowful arpeggio to open a majestic fall of melodic and obscure melodic lines and riffs, those who can create pleasure and suffering. The following two songs "Fruits of a Tragic End" and the titletrack are very dark and with much more impact keeping the banner in what expressed above. "A Silent Night in a Silent Castle" is a storm of self-destructive emotions, a valley of shadow and shading visions in dark places, of abandonment, god is nowhere and an ancient aura is doomed by nostalgia. There are also two other songs already heard on "Apparitia", one of them with some different background elements, not to mention superb: I will surely not stop to support this strong French band, one of the few that’s following a personal path distorting romanticism in a hallucinated, somber, melancholic and sick form of art…I will surely hear for this album for long time.
