PROFVNDIS CLAMAVI - Artes Moriendi
New
black metal band coming from the italian underground. A good revelation, a
perfect mix between arcane atmosphere, melodic riffs and grim metal attack. Just
a mini cd selfproducted, but really good music for those who are malancholic of
the great age of symphonic black metal.
The opener "Sephulcre" is very dark and it seems to hear again the
debut of the norvegian band Keep Of Kalessin. De Profvndis Clamavi are able to
mix the occult esotheric italian tradition with the melodies typical of
scandinavian black. "They Are Calling" is the result of this comunion
of styles. Good songwriting are present in all songs even if sometimes the
keyboard's part are quite boring bacause they never changes the sounds. "Bleeding
Nightsky" has a mystic beginning that reminds early Emperor and Dimmu
Borgir; this is maybe the best song of this interesting mini cd. At the end
there's an evil speech in the last song that probably is inspired by the italian
occult and satanic tradition and bands as Limbo and others. A very impressive
mini cd of melodic black metal, a new promise coming from one of the better
scenes at the moment.
