DIMENSION F3H - REAPING THE WORLD WIND

Hammerheart Records

This review is more a question mark than a final sentence, this is an album that surely have a difficult target to achieve, to not cause the regret for the majesty of the main member previous band, Mr. Morfeus of deceased Limbonic Art. Someone will not listen to this new path because of the past but I can say that already the last Limbonic Art’s album wasn’t so experimental and a bit more heavy and linked to traditional metal. Dimension F3h is not able to keep away the Limbonic Art phantom because some elements have surely something in common with the synth. elements but another time there’s not the experimental and elitist approach of their early album. Differently the opener title-track was much more promising recreating a majestic atmosphere in more modern way with the presence of clean vocals that sometimes have too much in common with a more moderate metal heritage instead of a more experimental one. It’s not bad by itself this idea of a clean type of singing sometimes a bit outside the music but it has to be improved, working for a more inner mood.

Already the second song is a bit a step back to heavier roots and going through the middle of the album the recalls to more safe lands grow, the synth parts are more interesting taking a step back to the original Limbonic Art’s heritage. In this work there are some very interesting intuitions but the guitar base is sometimes a bit too rhythmic. A thing to keep away is the hard-rockish attitude that sometimes the singer show. After all this analysis "Reaping…" surely remains an option to try for all those who appreciate Limbonic Art but with some doubts, hoping for a solutions of the problems that I’ve heard there and there…

The symphonic influence of the previous Morfeus project is not the same today, because everything is like more nervous and a bit more pound, sometimes a sort of modern theatrical version of far symphonic hymns,, so that this is the strongest element of this project in my view…not bad!

Vote 4.5/6 Ild
