Really I can’t believe to review another Enslaved album, so many time is passed from the their outstanding demo, one of the more important steps for all the Black and Viking Metal genre, and still they play what they like, without rooting but looking forward without forgive their primordial essence. The artwork haven’t too many word but surely the music speaks itself, also the screams and spoken parts are like absorbed but the maelstrom and sometimes cold void created by the psychedelic and visionary mood of this unique creation. Older melodies of their past works are elaborated and in a new way keeping their mist and also involving the listener in a spiritual travel, that if you can hear and understand is something you’ll not forgive. 

With "Below the Lights" Enslaved show to have what should be essential for a band that is a leader and not a follower, the ability to create to look forward, to not stop to barriers but thing to understand the same things in a different perspective. "The Crossing" is a journey that starts with an acoustic introduction to grow in shading fields and then a fusion of those two real and abstract sensation, superb! "Queen of the Night" is for an half an epic song with the psychedelic visionary trademark of this album, then a thrashy riffing comes out. Then a rockish riffs brakes on but it’s just a moment then a clean part bring back the mist. The result is one of the most mature songs ever written and arranged by the band. "heavenless" starts with an Viking Choir to become a martial march and then to bringh back the wind from the past. 

The only strange things is that Osmose is releasing them, because it’s clear how surely this label will never understand the peculiarity of this music. But like Seth it’s clear how after taking a band they’re not able to understand the meaning of their evolution so the future will tell, I only hope that they will reach the right attention. Notwithstanding the answer of the metal masses this band is following the path of the glory, their name will not be surely forgotten.
