ENTHRONED - CARNAGE IN WORLDS BEYOND

I was very worried about the health of that band after two weak albums, the last one was very poor but here come the return from behind, from the grave. "Carnage..." is a devastating black metal album without compromises but made with the black mind, not a simple demonstration of brutality, it’s my idea of that kind of straight and cold black metal. When I listen to a good but fair American black metal band like Thornspawn and to "Carnage..." I think that the main difference is the Enthroned have in their roots the awesome vision of "Prophecies of Pagan Fire", their incredible debut, so there is a powerful but very harsh and abrasive sound and some very good ideas on the guitar riffs. They have the strong engine of the electric storm and the magic black essence of the early days in an explosive mix, an hateful hymn to the annihilation summoned by the hellfire, a bloody dedication. Like Tsjuder Enthroned use to filter death and thrash influences in a dominant black metal cult of darkness. A special mention goes to the drumming desecrator Alsvid, also in Seth, tight and monumental, fast but various, simply perfect.
The years are passing by but the underground attitude of that bands isn’t passing, remaining a fist in the face of god, restless.
