Moribound
Records
In
this update I’m gringo to review three Moribound releases, the call them
“Cult” and they surely deserve that honour, Genocide Commando is another
special release. The cover is already a sign of what to expect from the Usa/French
split band…I use to call them the blind fist of freedom repression. The music
is a very sharp Black Metal assault made to crush in a terminal way, not surely
in any straight brutal way but better in the blacker icy abomination. It’s not
a case that Commander Noktu of Celestia/Mortiferia is one of the main
song-writers, the music is hateful, somber and with a strong understanding of
the typical Blacker cold melodies. The riffs have surely a common link with the
French background but in a sort of anti-riot modern solution, probably to to the
American influx. The drumming is intense but not over the borders, following the
songs evolutions, notwithstanding the overall feeling is very homogenous. The
artwork reminds me to a sort of “Military State” infected by the seed of
violent anarchy. All in all Genocide is a very actual band or in a future view
it can be the seen as something real, this is the dark side of mass policies.
It’s great how the very misanthropic attitude of the band have it’s distorted aesthetic made of organized chaos. The smell of gas is everywhere, around the are the ruins of solar illusion of modern normalized age…
