HAEMOTH /AD NOCTEM – MORTUALES DELICTI
I’ve received this interesting cd by a growing underground label and the product is a very conscious split of cold and eerie Black Metal, not any opening to any agreement with the easy listening style of so many childish bands of today. Haemoth (Vote 4,5/6) are the most promising one, they have some strong similarities with the French Black Legion Wave. The vocals are ultra-distorted and the screaming is sick as it should be, fast moments and some slower so that the prevalence of the wild spirit. Anomalies infect the warm sureness, this is what Haemoth express with their Black Metal that in some moments remind me an historical band like Mutiilation. It’s a pity that they can’t keep the high quality of those two-three great tracks they show in all their side. The chaotic music that play is only apparent because there’s a cynic consciousness between the unseen.
Ad Noctem (vote 2.5/6) are a bit too primitive, they seem to have some limits in the manifestation of their dark and aggressive type of blackness because of a sort of lack of experience, I mean there are good ideas but the form is still a bit to be refined, in an underground way of course! The drum machine have the well known problem to sound too unreal on the fast parts and the quality of the songs are not at the top.
