LORD BELIAL - ANGELGRINDER
If you listen to "Angelgrinder" there are some good
songs played in a Swedish Black-Death Metal banner
but after a bit I can’t stop myself to say that there’s something
strange in this album, I can’t hear the genuine pulse of the first Lorb
Belial’s releases, like if the second half of the album has been created more
to be there then to add something important, and the drums recording sound is
horrible, so false, so plastic, unreal. They’re probably become more technical
on their songs but Black Metal needs the right mad energy and everything there
is too professional, too controlled, not that this is a problem by itself but
here something don’t work for me. Swedish Death and Thrash influences were
already part of the Lord Belial music and surely they’ve done something better
of the poor previous release, but the way to revive their music is probably to
turn back deeper on the roots, this time they probably tried in this way but
everything turned too normal. Aggression and darkness aren’t there at the top
level, just to say....
