LUNAR AURORA - ELIXIR OF SORROW

One of my preferred Teutonic band is finally back with this long awaited album too many times left on Ice and Finally Released by the new-born label The Oath, a great thanks from my side to finally give the printing to this release! This Lunar Aurora album starts back from the better known majesty unleashed with “Of Stargates and Blood…” and here come another glorious monument to the nightspirit. After the last bad recorded “Ars Moriendi” I was fearing another bad chapter but they have brought back the inspiration of their early material enriched by a very mature songwriting, with a fast and aggressive drumming that keep high the tension. The word “elixir” is obviously the right picture of this new chapter, an album surrounded by the original and well-known Lunar Aurora aura of dark mysticism and mystery that was the winning power of the second half of the ’90. It’s wonderful the sensation to be involved in circles of knowledge crossing the dimensions to the inner glorification of the immense waste solitude of world of purity. The act of corruption left its signs but also an aesthetic order, the refined art play by the Teutonic act is a challenge that really appeals my taste because it’s something that bring the listen to go deeper and to go over the ordinary emotions of the ordinary plastic symphonic discs of today. I will never stop to affirm how Lunar Aurora have an intelligent usage of the keys, also mainly because of the originality of their sound. They are not surely the prevalent subject but have a strong role in the creation of the atmosphere  I strongly advice all those listener of they today “grey depressive area” to look around for this disc so to have an idea of how extreme and trustful can be a mature Symphonic Black Metal album

Ild Vote 5.5/6
