LUX OCCULTA – THE MOTHER AND THE ENEMY

Maquiavelmusic Entertainment / Masterpiece Distribution

I was very curious to hear something from this band and to be honest i wouldn't thought that Lux Occulta would be so weird, luckily i must say...i don't know how the previous works sounds this is simply mad speaking in terms of creativity, trying to label something like this with a sort of "experimental black metal" would be impossible and a bit stupid...it's just extreme, a marvellous mix of black and death metal together with a progressive attitude and jazz a là Fleurety....but do not misunderstand me this work isn’t perfect...it’s a bit like a transition album because of it’s light incoerence, to be more clear there are some really weird songs and others a bit too traditional, but in it’s complexity that album sounds marvellous.

The production by Studio333 is really good and the fact that Lux Occulta hired two professional musician for saxophones, trumpets and female jazz vocals proves how they took care of every single side of their music. Useless to say that if you are deeply into musical experimentation without pre-defined borders you’ll love it...if not just stay away...
