MURDER RAPE - EVIL SHALL BURN INSIDE ME FOREVER

ago when I was strongly listening to Scandinavia black metal it was a surprise
to know good North American bands like Judas Iscariot and Fog, but the last
thing that I was expecting was to recognized valuable band for that genre in the
South side of this continent, but another time a surprise came with this album.
I wasn’t at all in the first one of this Brazilian band, a sort of slow death
metal similar to the Samael’s early albums, ...differently "Evil Shall..."
remind me some of the atmosphere of the first two Marduk’s album, this because
Murder Rape play a black metal with some clear thrash and little death elements,
they take the darker side of those genres in the blacker dimension. Everything
recalls to that short historical shift, just listen to the opener "...and
Evil Return", it can be heard the true involvement of those guys, the third
song opens with a very gloomy arpeggio to open with a fire assault and I really
appreciate their slow song "Z.O.E.", enriched by a slow melodic riff,
its like a slow steps watching around fields of suffering, with an heart cold as
ice. The most important value of this album is to keep alive something forlorn,
Evil Horde have in its rank a band that deserve respect and that is a point of
reference for the underground scene, because this album is a clear sign that
they’re not interested by different temptations, if you like the older spirit
of Black Metal they’re a good band.
