Distant...in a solitary eastern forest somebody is doing a sacrifice to the ancient spirits of the night. This fourth release made by the most impressive Romanian extreme metal band Negura Bunget is a magical recall able to create in our dreams a sort of mysticism and agony 'cause the emotional arcane dance is pulling you into a unconscious state of mind. It's very hard to define the style of this 'N Crugu Bradului', this masterpiece is a gate to others way to understand the real meaning of extreme metal. You can find not only raw black metal, but also atmospheres that include a kind of mysterious invocation coming by the main altar of Sarmizagetusa Regia so many centuries ago. The opener song is similar to the Negura's old songs, the production is good but very strange at the same way: it isn't a bombastic production, but it seems a slight fog that submerge all the visions that you dream while you are listening to this album. The sinister smell of blood sacrificed is more strong now and with the second song we enter into the circle of stone where we are possessed by ecstatic feelings, a shaman show us the way to finish our sacrifice tonight: a psychedelic dance that prepare the final act, but it’s not yet finished, here come a great black metal song with excellent riffing and a final acoustic part to confirm all the skill of Negura Bunget to create a personal kind of music. They show to be one of the best extreme metal bands of the planet, coming from the virgin forests of Transilvania. The album ends with a quite ambient song to underline the transcendental nature of the music that you'll find in this masterpiece.
