PERISHED - GRIM

The long awaited Perished’s debut "Kark" was one of the better epic and melodic black metal release to date, an album that was following the superb pattern of the great Satyricon’s "The Shadowthrone" and another time the five songs of the minicd "Grim" are a confirm of the Perished quality, like in the previous one there is the quick black drumming, but this time it’s more explosive and the songs are shorter, more intense. The Nordic spirit, left apart by so many well-known names, have a strong spokesman in Perished, great riffs and aggression, a well-done screaming and a good recording are a lethal weapons for a symphonic black metal fan like me.
Too many years are passed from the symph. Black metal boom and actually Perished are in a difficult spot but I believe that if they will keep playing supreme music like that they will increase the fans base that they have already acquired wit the the great "Kark". It’s a pleasure to listen to a band that isn’t following the trend, searching for the roots of their spiritual creation, in forlorn places, far away from the masses and their hysterical nothingness. Their sound is the voice of a dark destiny, an epic and dramatic atmosphere for those who cares....
