I
was really looking forward to hear this album, I thought it would be something
totally sick and pure genius beyond the musical madness, probably I was
expecting too much. Do not misunderstand me, it’s a good album, but I thought
it was a masterpiece when I read all over the internet and on the magazines the
great reviews. What to say about it ? I don’t know any other work by Red
Harvest (I hope to listen also Cold Dark Matter) so I cannot make some
comparisons between the early albums but I’ve to say that it’s very well
produced, for the genre it sounds perfect. The songs are mostly mid-tempos rich
of synths and some samples, it’s a very good work, but, Red Harvest tries to
play something very original, but they sound more "metal conventional"
at the same time, I think that this kind of problem is one of the most (better
than the pretentious ...And Oceans, though) common in the Scandinavian bands...too
much coldness, I mean only instrumental skills and perfect sounds without
feelings, it sounds like they have not dared so much, it’s not like the pure
madness and experimental environment of Aborym and their last masterpiece "With
No Human Intervention", If you’d like to listen to some conventional
metal with a Cyber and Apocalyptic atmosphere I would say "Listen To Sick
Transit Gloria Mundi"...but if your are looking something more sick and
100% mind afflicted my advice is to listen something from Aborym or Dodheimsgard...that’s
the point.
