ROTTING
CHRIST - GENESIS
I’ve
heard so many bullshits about that
release because this is another useless Rotting Christ heavy metal bunch of
songs masked to be "pseudo-black metal" and the totally fail to
generate every dark and sombre feeling. I call it modern gothic heavy music, not
extreme music and some choirs aren’t helping too much.
The sad reality is that Rotting Christ are in a
period artistic confusion started from the very good but controversial
gothic album that is "Dead Poem", the horrible follower and the fair
"Chronos" and this last work show a creeping indecision an hybrid band
that can’t keep the emotive and visionary atmosphere of their previous
"..Poem" and also the occult and morbid spirit of their early work.
The only interesting
thing is that sometimes the mystic and mythological sometimes emerges from the
silence but those are only elusive moments, like in "In Domine Sathana"
and "Under the Name of Legion".
They’re in the middle of a crossing and the result isn’t to create something
unique but differently to frustrate every expectation, when they will solve that
riddle probably there will be a real future for that long known band.
