SATANIC WARMASTER - Black Katharsis  (minicd)

Another time an howl in the night, "Black Katharsis" sound different from the previous more harsh album releases by the finnish band, this time with this 18 min. minilp they go for the atmosphere, capturing the hanger of solitary visions, like the darkly excellent "Remembrance of Times Forgotten", "Cursed Emperor" follow increasing the coldness of the nocturnal scenario with a more thrashy approach, but the overall music is strongly inspired by the more evocative and sombre side of traditional Black Metal, presented with a personal touch, sometimes similar to the great Baptism "The Beherial Midnight". Satanic Warmaster are a band that are like back to the roots without sounding repetitive and without any flashback, technically their music is a mid-tempo Black Metal with some never so fast accelerations. In the three songs there are some interesting melodies but the recording, the overall mood made them work perfectly to the obscure and icy feeling of "Black Katharsis", superb!
