SATYRICON - VOLCANO   

Ok, we all know that nothing lasts forever, right ? It’s not a secret that Satyricon after Nemesis Divina have lost their folkish-icecold black metal appeal and attitude with Rebel Extravangaza that wasn’t a bad album at all, but this new chapter in the Satyricon history signs the lowest point ever.
The main problems are total lack of attitude, ideas, a not very brilliant sound compared to the monumental production of Nemesis Divina and the biggest of all, the songs, that have lost all the black metal feeling substituiting it for a black’n’roll "live" sound. The fact is that Satyr and Frost know (I’m not so sure of the second one...) that the name "Satyricon" grants a certain number of incomes and they hadn’t the decent idea to split up and form a new project for the total different musical path they’ve chosen. Only "Repined Bastard Nation" reaches a sufficient mark, definitely after Mayhem’s Grand Declaration Of Shit, Volcano is one of the greatest shitty eruptions of hypocrisy and boredom ever, a special award to Black Lava that is one of the most boring songs I’ve ever heard,  the right title for this album should be the name of the first track with a part that has been omitted, With Ravenous Hunger (For Money) !
