Listen to "The Seven Desires..." is for sure a morbid sensation, something perverse and disturbing, the music is a mix of black metal played in a modern way, sometime in a similar way to Thorns on the riffs, with synth. experiments, a cold drum-machine, programmed in the right way. The thing that I really appreciate is the controversial mood of this music, something that seems to cover hallucinated experiences, a deformed vision...a bit horror-like. The strongest element is in my opioni the keyboard and effects, those who are able to recreate a evasive and suspended atmosphere and I also liked the artwork, that perfectly fits to the music target. Serpent Eclipse show a certain intelligence on the arrangements, without forgiving some psychotic and nervous, surprising moments, the result is very good because everything is so inhuman, like an alchemic experience.
Speaking about the rhythmic side I can say that it’s totally unstable and exalting, really weird. The short running time, about 25 minutes, made it very intense and after the first listening it’s a pleasure to play back, a surprise for sure, never heard of that band before...
