album for this atypical creature rich of thousand interesting influences a kind
of death metal slightly painted of swedish way but with an aggressive
american approach enriched by symphonic and melodic parts with an unique
theatral voice using, few words to introduce this band too strange to give it a
definition and category, particular and stunning at the same time.
This
promise of the metal scene from Poland has released this “Dark fields of pain”
that shows immediately a work full of real good ideas characterized for its
magnetic and personal magic formula composing a profound alchemy between the
strumental elements.
This
is not something innovative but a worthy example of a band who wants to improve
trough experimentations of different extreme approaches and sentiments creating
an own way of meaning.
“Waiting
for a wings” I think, represents the essence of Serpentia’s sound showing
the perfect symbiosis between the parts balanced with wisdom underlineing the
contrasts that makes this work interesting in every way.
Convincing
up and mid-tempos are lavishing the carring refrain on the tracks never touching
ultra fast parts ‘cause they want to enchant and kill their listeners on every
notes.
Another
right choice stays on a real and personal vocal searching giving the
particularity on the monologues and
clean sections, sometimes using their mother tongue resulting appropriate and
different then the same hyper abused english language!
A product that differs from the usual majority, trying to refresh and give new identity and life to a stale and inflated scene where there’s a deep lack of argumentations and creativity where ther’s a need of something and someone to rise again the true soul of extreme metal and Serpentia has the strength and capacities to do it bringing a lot of surprises for the future!
