SHINING - III - ANGST  

 Angst is the smell of desolation, a slow and inexorable march to the dissolution of every positive human energy. The opening song "Mörda Dig Själv..." partly remainds me to the doomish monument that is the last Dolorian’s hypnotic album in a more raw version, the strong burzumish black metal background that the band show. Hellhammer drums performance is very good as usual, this time nothing is excessive, outside the field of this type of dark creation, he fully understand the spirit that the Shining’s music represent. This is not the Shining debut, but their third demonstration of devotion to the darkest art, just listen to the excellent debut "Within Deep Dark Chambers". The guitars picture grey views, landscapes of great songs, one by one other bricks to a total eclipse, in a hypnotic endless agony.
The cold land of Sweden isn’t this time the field for an epic melodic assault but differently for a descent in a solitary grave, alone from the rumours of society.
This is what I mean for extreme music and for the primordial an untouched feeling of black metal, a way for the few...this time. Here the silent dominates and a self-destructive spirit will create infinite shadows, visions of the grey oblivion. As a Thy Serpent song was saying "only dusk moves", everything stops, the word become stone, this is the last Shining’s answer to the world hypocrisy, the final earth picture...then everything fades"this is the end of everything"
