The
Swedish scene is hard to die, Selbstmord have under-covered a new nightmarish
crew of killer acts far beyond the mediocrity. Svatsyn is a band with an history
behind two albums, one known for a very bad recording and another one of
destructive , sharp as a cold blade, dark as an abyss of cruelty. The inhuman
mad attitude isn’t surely gone but this album is not so explicit like “His
Majesty”, to a short listening it can be defined as a chaotic album but the
way to express similar feeling is different this time, the sound is harsh and
raw as usual but more distorted. The distortion is a bit more chaotic and the
drumming have a triggered and high pitched sound, the previous album was much
massive, this one witness a plague of sickness. The title itself explain the
meaning of the Svartsyn dissolution will, the way is strangling the listener
with a chain of emptiness and void leaving no way out but when all lights will
fade the hallucination will not stop to reign. I’m not there to say that
“Destruction of Man” is a Black Metal opus because it’s a very difficult
path to go through a depth tunnel, obsessed by visions with echoes running in
the listener’s head.
It’s a surprise that the ex Dark Funeral drummer Drauglin is still part of Svartsyn because it’s obvious how those bands are totally different, in this last album the drumming and the overall performance is much focused on the distorted mood that in a polite Swedish black metal, better so from my side but too many will argue that everything sound shit…no matter what the result is very sinister.
