The track I heard on the Code666 compilation was very much promising, this album is fair but not to the level I was hoping. Unmoored turn to be a very professional death-thrash band with too few fresh ideas and it’s a pity because in the background of their music there are some low temptations of departure from the standards that could be implemented. If I compare this band to other thousand similar around probably they have still not reached a maturity to take the lead, in some moments they’re a more brutal version of melodic death metal and others it’s more a rhythmic matter. I’m not the best listener of such kind of music but it’s a matter of fact that today to take the lead of a over polluted scene like this you need something special, probably this seed is inside this band but it’s not yet ready to spread something remarkable. The modern synth. elements can be a fresh sign in a more common wall of sound, but they are too few, only some intuitions and nothing more, the recording is surely to the best, done with the necessary strength and heaviness, some songs can be heard without problems but after everything end sometimes is like missed or there’s the sensation that the band haven’t reached its limits.
