I’ll talk about some London monuments -ST PAUL’S CATHEDRAL: is the largest Church in the City of London. -TOWER BRIDGE: is the most famous bridge in London. It offers a spectacular view of the River Thames. -THE TOWER OF LONDON: is a museum and houses the Crown Jewels. In the past , this medieval fortress was a royal palace and then a prison. -WESTMINSTER ABBEY: is a gothic masterpiece of the Middle Ages. Alessia Dario |
Buckingham Palace is the official home of the Royal Family. When the Queen is in residence, royal flag files over the Palace. The traditional Changing of the Guard ceremony takes place in the mornings and attracts lots of tourist.
Big Ben is the clock tower bell in the Houses of Parliament. It is famous all over the world as the symbol of London. The Houses of Parliament are the centre of political power in Britain. Filippo Rami |
When you visit a park in the UK you have to respect a code: 1 Enjoy the countryside and respect its life and work. 2 Guard against all risk of fire. 3Close all gates properly . 4 Keep your dogs under close control . 5 keep to public paths across farmland. 6 Use gates to cross fences hedges and walls. 7Leave livestock ,crops and machinery alone. 8 Take your litter home. 9Help to keep all water clean. 10 Protect wildlife, plants, flowers and trees . 11 Take special care on country roads 12 Make no unnecessary noise. Picadilly Circus Is the National meeting place and the heart of the West End.In the middle of the square the statue of Eros is a memorial to Lord Shaftesbury. HYDE PARK
Is the largest and most crowded of London’s parks. In spring and summer you see many horse riders in Rotten Row. On fine days people take out rowing and sailing boats on the Serpentine Lake. Here anyone can speak freely about politics, religion and social problems.

Most British National parks are on private land. Their first aim is to protect the countryside and its life, since they are places where people live and work. Their second aim is to encourage a love of nature and to provide opportunities for outdoor activities in the open country. Houses London Zoo with about 8000 animals of 900 species, and an artificial lake which is a paradise for birds. In the open-air theatre you can listen to concerts in summer and see performances, mostly of Shakespeare’s plays. Artur Sinameta |

The British Isles a rich variety of landscape , with great differences in short distances in shorts distances The climate is subject to frequent and stormy changes , but there are rarely extremes of cold or heat. The weather is very changeable from day to day and place to place. You can experience the four Seasons in a day , especially in summer.

Kensington Gardens is the richest in vegetation. The Flower Walk is full of flowers and trees in almost every season. It is children’s favourite park. There they can play with model boats on the artificial lake, called Round Pond. Other attractions are the famous statue of Peter Pan, and the serpentine gallery where modern artists exhibit their works.

I’ll talk about the Central London.Consists of three main areas: City, Westmister and West End.
The City: is the oldest part, once enclosed by a Roman wall.
The Westmister: with its royal palace , the Houses of Parliament, its abbey and its government offices.
The West End: here you can find busy shopping streets such as Piccadilly, Bond Street, Regent Street and Oxford Street.
