MODELLO Intorno al 1993, le ditte Italeri e Dragon iniziarono una collaborazione poi durata diversi anni che porto' all'uscita di vari soggetti interessanti, in una scala, la 1:200, che a quell'epoca stava ancora iniziando a diffondersi. Uno di questi soggetti fu questo kit del C-141B Starlifter. Per me fu un acquisto impulsivo: e' un aereo che mi piace molto e solo un pario di anni prima ne avevo visti diversi esemplari ad affollare i piazzali della base aerea di Francoforte, alla volta dell'Arabia Saudita, nel pieno di Desert Storm. Acquistarlo, costruirlo e completarlo, furono tutt'uno, anche se senza grandi pretese, ma fui felice di poterne ammirare in tre dimensioni le filanti e sinuose linee.

Around 1993, Italeri and Dragon started a long term partnership that led to issue many interesting subjects in 1:200 scale, a reduction ratio that was still emerging in scale modelling. One of those subjects was this C-141B Starlifter. The purchase of this kit was rather compulsive becauseI like this aircraft and just two years earlier I had chance to see many of them crowding the apron at Frankfurt AFB prior to bring supplies to Saudi Arabia in the busiest days of Desert Storm. I bought, built and painted it in a single week, without super detailing and the like, but I was really happy to see again his streamlined and winding lines in this three-dimensional rendering. |
