IL
SOGGETTO
Elicottero
da assalto e anticarro, dopo essersi lasciato alle spalle la guerra in
Afghanistan, la rivoluzione sandinista in Nicaragua e vari conflitti minori
lo Hind costituisce tuttora l'equipaggiamento principale di molte unità
degli eserciti dell'ex Patto di Varsavia. Una di queste è l'Aviazione
della Repubblica Ceca, che nel 1994 predispose questo variopinto esemplare
e lo presentò allo International Air Tattoo, a Fairford (UK). Normalmente,
il velivolo appartiene al 51° Reggimento Elicotteri, di base a Prostejov,
del quale celebrava il 20° anniversario.
IL MODELLO
È
un vecchio kit Esci, per il quale devo ringraziare un amico americano che
me lo vendette tramite il newsgroup rec.models.scale, a cui ho aggiunto
le decal del foglio X042-72 prodotto dalla Xtradecal, con vari adattamenti,
calci e pugni e mezzo litro di acido acetico...
Nessuna
nota di merito sulla costruzione, interamente da scatola ma, dedicando
lo svarione a certi modellisti italiani paranoici del superdettaglio, ho
intenzionalmente lasciato così com'era un rotore di coda così
sovradimensionato che, se potesse girare, taglierebbe il piano di coda
orizzontale.
Poche
settimane dopo avere completato il modello, uscì un kit della Revell
di questo stesso soggetto.

SUBJECT
The
Hind-D is an assault and anti-tank helicopter still represent the main
equipment of this type in many armies of the former Warsaw Pact, having
fought in Afghanistan, Nicaragua and other local conflicts.
One
of the countries still using it is the Czech Republic, whose Air Force
painted this tiger pattern onto an example of the 51th Helicopter
Regiment based at Prostejov to celebrate its 20th anniversary and displayed
it at IAT Fairford 94.
MODEL
This
is an old Esci kit, that I purchased from an American fellow through rec.models.scale.
I
built it straight from the box. putting great efforts and a lot of setting
agent to adapt a decal sheet of this subject from Xtradecals.
I
didn't correct a tail rotor so wrongly large that, should it work,
it would cut the horizontal tab, dedicating this lack to all those Italian
modellers suffering from the Advanced Modeller's Syndrome.
Historians
and scientist studying the Murphy's rules reported that some week after
I finished it, a kit of the same subject was issued by Revell-Germany. |
