L'F-5E occupa un
ruolo di
primo piano nelle forze aeree Svizzere.
Dopo la radiazione
degli
ultimi Hunter, anche la Patrouille Suisse lo ha adottato e per questo
è
stata studiata una livrea molto appariscente, dominata dai colori
nazionali
della Confederazione.
MODELLO
Ancora una volta da
scatola
Italeri, questo modello si avvale del foglio decal che, all'epoca in
cui lo acquistai, era distribuito
esclusivamente
con le confezioni vendute in Svizzera.
Questo esemplare in
particolare
mostra la prima versione della speciale livrea, ancora con il radome
grigio
e con una croce bianca sul ventre sfumata verso la coda.
In realtà,
oltre
ad usare le decal specifiche, al modello di base del'F-5E si devono
allargare
il muso e modificare il seggiolino, che sono come quelli dell'F-20, e
sostituire
le due alette ai lati delle prese d'aria con altre più squadrate.

SUBJECT
The F-5E has a
high-ranking
role into the Swiss air forces.
After the
withdrawing of
the last Hunters, also the Patrouille Suisse adopted this model, since
has been studied a very garish livery, inspired to the Confederation's
national colors.
MODEL
Once more an Italeri
kit,
fitted with the special decal sheet that at first was distributed only
in
Switzerland.
This very sample
shows the
first livery attempt, with a grey radome and a white cross under the
belly,
faded towards the tail..
Truth to tell,
beyond the
proper decal sheet I had to improve the base kit with a widened nose
radome
and a modified ejection seat, that are the same as in the F-20, and to
replace the two winglets aside the air intakes with more squared ones.
