This is a roster update for EA Sports' NHL 98. I am in no way associated with EA Sports, I have made this and other roster updates just for enjoying this game (which, IMHO, is the best hockey game ever made for PC's) at the top of his essence. 
This one doesn't pretend to be the "perfect update", although I did my best to be accurate and to grant a decent realism in the game-playing.

Version 1.0 Update Notes:
=========================
This is the first-and-only version of this update (so far).
The original NHL 98 team rosters (the ones provided with the original version of the game, come out on Sept. '97) have been updated to the final 97/98 season's rosters.
A lot of players (rookies + more players not included in the original game's rosters) were added with all the trades and number changes; there could be some inaccuracies in the new players' personal data. The lines are the most accurate possible, 'though.
Updated the default player stats and team stats to the 1997/98 NHL season.
Some National teams (USA, Canada, Russia and more) have also been updated, with more reasonable rosters, inspired by those who have played the Nagano Olympic Tournament in 1998.

Installation Instructions:
==========================
Make a backup copy of the original db files contained in your nhl98\db folder and place it in a safe folder or data drive.
Unzip the nhl98000.dbf and nhl98001.dbf files into the nhl98\db folder and start the game.

IMPORTANT WARNING: Any game or season previously saved with different rosters cannot be played with these ones. You have to start a new game/season.


Notes:

Although you shouldn't experience any big problem of any sort, I am not responsible for any possible damage caused by the use of these rosters.
I am not responsible also for the deletion of the original rosters caused by the accidental overwriting of the dbf files.
This update can be distributed freely as long as it is not sold, modified, and/or renamed. Please send me an email if you want to modify these rosters for re-posting them on the Internet.
