Hello NHL Hockey fans! This is a collection of games I have decided to put online for the 1999/00 NHL Season.
The requirements for joining are very simple: you need to have a browser which supports Javascript 1.2 (any browser
should have this capability unless it is obsolete...) and... you have to be a real Hockey fan!
General -
Every fantasy owner manages a complete roster of 20 NHL players and owns a fantasy budget to pay salaries.
Only one team for each owner is allowed.
Salaries -
Each NHL player in the roster earns a fantasy money salary, which is calculated by using the player stats in the
1998/99 NHL regular season.
Salary cap -
Different team owners can draft the same NHL fantasy player.
The total salary amount for the 20-player roster shouldn't overcome the salary cap treshold, which is fixed for every
fantasy team.
Player positions -
The selectable NHL players are subdivided into position categories, that is Goalies, Defensemen, Centers and Wings.
There is a limit for the number of players draftable in each of those positions.
Team scoring -
The final score for every team is the total amount of fantasy points scored by each of the 20 players in the
roster at the end of the NHL regular season. The final league standings are done by sorting the fantasy teams basing on
their final score. The tie breakers are (in order of importance): lowest total salary amount, most goals scored by the
team, best +/- rating of the team, random choice ("Head or Tails").
Prizes -
Sorry, there won't be any material prize for the league winner. The only prize is the satisfaction of declaring himself
"Champion of the Fantasy Hockey Salary Cap League 1999/00".
Time limit -
With the consent of who has already signed, I'd like to extend the time limit of 7 days, that is October 15 1999.
I hope in this way I'll reach the minimum number of 6 owners needed to let this league start.
However just once that quota is reached, I will consider the league filled and start, no matter if it is October 15 or before.
Start -
The league will officially start at the beginning of the 1999/00 NHL season. The fantasy teams names, owners and rosters
will be posted in this page as well as the final and/or partial team standings. I hope to be able to post partial
standings at least once per month.
General -
Every fantasy owner manages a complete roster of 20 NHL players. Only one team for each owner is allowed.
Draft -
Every Fantasy NHL player can be drafted for just one of the teams that make up the League. The draft will be held
automatically (you don't need to be online during that procedure) whenever the league will start.
Drafting Lists -
The draft will be held automatically, and will be done basing upon the drafting lists sent by the league owners.
The selectable NHL players are subdivided into position categories, that is Goalies (G), Defensemen (D) , Centers (C) and Wings (W).
Every team owner has to sort those lists by putting his favourite players on the top and his non-favourite players
on the bottom. The default positions are filled basing on the fantasy points scored in the 1998/99 season.
Drafting Procedure -
A preliminary priority list (of the teams in the league) will be filled randomly. The draft is subdivided into
20 rounds; in each round every fantasy team will get one player of the same position list, by following the priority
list; at the end of each round the team on the top of the priority list will be placed on the bottom, and the rest of
the priority list will be shifted one place higher. Each of the 20 rounds of the draft will use a different position list, in
the following order C-G-W-D-W-C-D-W-D-W-C-G-W-D-W-C-D-W-D-W.

You have to make your predictions for the 6 final division standings of the 1999/00 NHL regular season.
You'll earn one point for every position matched. At the end of the NHL regular season the final predictors' standings
will be posted on this web page. Some updates made on the partial standings will be posted approxiamtely once per months.
The tie breakers are (in order of importance): No. of division winners matched, No. of 2nd placers matched, No. of 3rd
placers matched, No. of 4th placers matched, No. of 5th placers matched, random choice ("Head or Tails").
Again, sorry, there won't be any material prize for the league winner. The only prize is the satisfaction of declaring himself
"Champion of the NHL 1999/00 season Prediction Challenge".
