USB CAT CABLE
FOR AOR AR8000 SCANNER
Method #1 involves drilling a hole in the radio shell, where a
stereo audio jack will be fitted.
Select either a 2.5MM or a 3.5MM jack paying attention to its overall dimensions
Three locations are potentially suitable
Take your time to measure the exact location, so that the jack won't interfere
with the radio PCB's and components inside.
The jack will remain in between the two PCB's.
Method #2 makes use
of an FFC adapter This means that the battery hatch has to be moved away, so that the FFC adapter can be pushed into the FFC jack inside the radio A slot may be engraved in the battery hatch, so it won't be moved
away when using the CAT cable Such slotted hatch was marketed by AOR to be
used with their interface CU-8232
fitted with FFC-like PCB
