THE COLLECTION
The Palio Collection of T-shirts by Italian designer Anna Domenici is
manufactured in Italy of 95% Italian cotton and 5% spandex. The
t-shirts are hand silk screened with multiple bold rich colors on both
sides for a unique longlasting appeal. Each style is available in
either a short-sleeve round neck, short-sleeve v-neck and sleeveless
mock turtle neck and available in four womens’ sizes of small, medium,
large and extra large. Three-quarter length sleeve will be available in
Fall 2004.
BACKGROUND
After twenty
years as Art Director for design houses Krizia and Mila Schon in Milan,
Anna Domenici returns to her home outside of Siena to develop her
passion for the Palio and love for the Tuscan hills. |

INSPIRATION
The Palio Collection represents the merging of the centuries old
tradition of the Masters of Sienese art and Anna Domenici’s
contemporary artistic interpretation of the Legends of the Palio and
their heraldic symbols. The Palio is a historic horse race which takes
place annually in a fury of passion in the Piazza del Campo of Siena,
Italy, July 2nd and August 16th. The founding “Contrada” families of
Siena compete in this traditional event and their family crests are
spectacularly displayed in the form of flags waving over thousands of
international spectators. Anna Domenici has brilliantly designed and
reinterpreted the Palio symbols for a fashionable look while respecting
and preserving the tradition of which the Sienese people are extremely
jealous guardians. |
