The Coastline

The coastline of the southern part of the "Golfo di Orosei", by the bluffs of calcareous rock, it is one of the wildest and uncontaminated lines in Sardinia.

Here you can find the suggestive inlets of "Cala Mariolu", of "Cala Goloritzč", the beaches of "Cala Luna" and "Cala Sisine", at few south kilometers in the south of Cala Gonone, by the shoals licked up by crystalline waters. In nearness it's situated the suggestive "Cave of the Sea Ox", once stable center of the last specimen of the rare "seal nun".

In fact, the historical isolation, in which this territory has always remained , has guaranteed the maintenance of a natural environment without doubt among the most beautiful of the whole Mediterranean Sea. The whole region, apart some rare basaltic eruptions, is constituted by white tableland and calcareous massif. On them, the action of the carsic phenomenons has created incomparable landscape elements of extraordinary beauty: caves, arcs, steeples embellish the deep valleys that engrave the highlands covered by a forest of junipers, fig trees, oak woods, oak groves and ilexes. A vegetation that, after the cuts had been suffering for last century up to every year '50 for the production of the coal and the wooden sleeper for railways, it slowly increases, despite the thick presence of pasture animals.

The southern zone of the Gulf of Orosei resembles a lot to the Supramonte, but it has a card in more that it makes it really unique: the presence of the sea.

When we walk in these places, in fact, often our eyes don't succeed in detaching themselves from an incredible world, as if was suspended between the sky and the sea, but pulsating of life, crossed by the flights of thousand of birds: jackdaws, sea-gulls, swallows, wild colombiums, wandering hawks and hawks of the queen. A world where the nature reigns sovereign.

For the one that is a little accustomed to the grandiose shows that only the nature knows how to offer, we will also say that the physical contact with these places can give dizziness exaltation. You'll remain bewitched and just returned in the city you inevitably program to return for another visit.
