Born in Sicily, he has lived in the North of Italy at Bergamo for more than 20 years.  He has a degree in Mathematics and is a teacher.
He has always lived in close contact with cirnechi as his father kept them for hunting.  These dogs were not highly selected for conformation but extremely efficient in finding prey!
In his youth he met Dott.Scaldara who lived just a few chilometres away and he spent a lot of time at his kennel where he was able to learn from this breeder who selected splendid animals under the "Taorminensis" affix.
In this way his  interest in the breed was born and when his curiosity turned into a passion he studied the origins, morphology and function.
He has bred cirnechi for many years, working towards combining type and working ability.  He is a work trial judge and elected member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Italian Kennel Club.
 
 

Siciliano di origini, laureato in matematica, vive a Bergamo da più di vent'anni dove esercita la professione in insegante.
Ha sempre vissuto a contatto con cirnechi che il padre usava per la caccia, soggetti morfologicamente poco selezionati ma efficacissimi nello scovare selvaggina.
Da giovane ha conosciuto e frequentato il dott. Scaldara dal quale abitava a pochi chilometri di distanza e spesso si recava nel suo allevamento dove ha avuto la possibilità di apprendere gli insegnamenti di questo allevatore che sotto l'affisso "Taorminensis" selezionava splendidi animali.
Così iniziò l'interesse per questa razza e quando la curiosità si trasformò in passione approfondì le origini, la morfologia e la funzione.
Alleva da anni cirnechi cercando di conciliare tipicità e capacità venatorie, è giudice E.N.C.I. di prove di lavoro e eletto membro del Commitato Disciplinare del ENCI.
