The Country
FACING C.MONET

This particular meeting with C.Monet paintings was absolutely casual. In 2002, by the end of May, I decided to take some photos in the countryside of the provinces of Brescia, Mantova and Cremona (Italy). In this area the spaces are still open and the seasons may still show their beauty without being spoiled by some building, some factory or some highway. Then, while I was working on the project of this site, I found the first painting of C.Monet you can see on this page and I realized that it reminded me of one of my photos. So, I decided to find out all possible correspondences between the paintings and the photos and the result of this research became the content of this page.

The area where I took my photos is on the borders of the provinces of Brescia, Mantova and Cremona. Proceeding from Castenedolo (Bs) to East - South - East you leave the most populated zones behind you encountering the country landscape where your eyes may embrace the sky and look through the horizon.
